If you’re new to this whole “taking care of an age regressor” thing, you might be a little confused as to what to expect! Here’s a little guide of helpful suggestions I could come up with based on general age groups!
BABY AGE REGRESSORS
• very cuddly
• needs lots of naps
• might use diapers
• be gentle and soft with them please
• likes chewing on things
• feed them
• hold them
• may be very babbly or completely nonverbal
• might be calm or fussy
• pacis, bottles, teethers
• stuffies and blankies should be soft
• lullabies
• soft carpet or mats for crawlers
• not too loud or too bright please
TODDLER AGE REGRESSORS
• might be mischievous
• giggly
• cute clothes are necessary
• pacis and Sippy cups
• all the stuffies
• cute plates and eating utensils
• nap time might be harder to enforce
• makes messes if you don’t watch them
• lots of crayons
• cut up their food for them
• buckle their seat belt
• everything is a game
• Disney everything
• tickle fights
• brush their hair
• bubbles!
• tea parties
• there’s monsters in the closet
• piggy back rides
• imitates caregiver
• “I am a big kid!”
• needs help/reminding for brushing teeth, going to the bathroom, washing hands, etc.
• less baby talk, but uses simple sentences, may make small grammar or pronunciation mistakes
• they shouldn’t touch the sharp things!
• or hot things
• they will probably want to touch the hot things and the sharp things
LIL KIDDO AGE REGRESSORS
• more autonomous and can help you take care of them
• help pick out clothes
• tie shoes
• lots of questions “what’s that?” “Who’s that” “why?”
• watch lots of cartoons
• the character shaped food is always better
• thinks they can do everything by themselves but they still need help
• night lights
• play pretend
• wants to learn
• take fun trips to pool, park, zoo, etc.
• sings lots
• arts and crafts
• read with them
• chores
• hold hands to cross the street
• speech easy to understand but may be random and excitable, unrelated to what you were saying
• character t-shirts
• cute hair accessories, bracelets, etc.
• pillow forts
BIG KID AGE REGRESSORS
• wants to be more independent
• board games and card games
• video games and movies
• still needs bedtimes and curfews
• help cook meals
• give them little assignments
• needs to know you’re proud and you love them
• climbs trees
• can have more big kid conversations
• hang out and play with them
• write cute notes and stick in their lunch boxes
• help them make hard decisions but allow them some freedom
• might need to limit time with electronics
• sports and team games
• comic books/ magazines
Remember, this is just a list of suggestions. Every regressor is different, and you’ll have to get to know them personally. They may have qualities from each of these sections! If you’re ever unsure as to what your kiddo needs or wants from you as their carer, the best thing to do is to ask them! They may be unsure of what they want themselves. It can take time and experimenting, but together you can find what works for the both of you together.
Sometimes you’re just too stressed to regress, or maybe there’s other reasons. Either way I’ve seen a lot of people ask for tips about this and since I’ve been having the same problem I thought I’d share!
♡If stress a part of the problem, try to find a day where you can be away from what’s causing you stress.
♡Do some self care things and get any homework/other work out of the way so you can focus on being little
♡Find your favorite outfit that makes you feel small!
♡Make yourself a nice snack. Some of my favorites are:
•Cut up bananas
•Apple slices
•Cheese and Crackers
•Dinosaur Chicken nuggets and Mac and cheese (a classic)
•Grilled Cheese sandwiches (using a cookie cutter to make them into shapes makes me feel extra small!)
•If you have a sippy cup, drink out of that, if not try using a straw.
♡Watch some cartoons.
♡Find your favorite age regression blogs and scroll through their accounts
♡Have a tea party with your stuffies
♡Listen to Disney or kids music. There a ton of playlists you can find on Spotify that are perfect.
♡If you have a cg, let them baby you a lil extra.
You’ve probably heard these before but they’re still important to remember once in awhile. So chin up little one, it’ll all get better soon. 💕

If you are a little trying to meet other littles in public, there are actually a couple of codes you can use!
Draw a crown on the back of your hand 👑
If you think that someone might be a little, ask them, “I have a little question.” The reply to this is, “I have a little answer.“👗
Sit in a corner or someplace small and say, “I’ll just be here in my little space.“👍
If any of you know any others, feel free to comment! But those are the standard ones. Please spread them around so the little code can become more mainstream!
I actually had someone come up to me and go, “I have a little question.”
I said, “I have a little answer.”
They squealed and said, “DADDY DID YOU HEAR THAT?!”
☉Sunny Day Littles☉: Full of big smiles and giggles. Scraped knees and overalls with flower crowns. Tiny backpacks filled with their favorite little snacks. Running away and surprised sounds when they find something new. Icecream dripping down their arms and juicy fruits. Hand holding.
☁Cloudy Day Littles☁: Cuddly babies. Wrapped in blankets and full of love. Easily bored. Initiates random dance parties just for fun. Movie marathons. Probably curses on accident, gets scolded, and then says the word louder simply to spite their CG. Has a million stuffies and expects you to know them by name. Pouty faces and whining. Cat ears and snacky foods. Eskimo kisses.
⛈Thunder Storm Littles⛈: Easily frustrated and angered. Cries because they are fruatrated. Really just need a a hug. Probably bratty. Independent but doesn’t mind the company. Their CG’s lap is their throne. Race cars and monster trucks are their preferred toy. Probably a messy eater. Wants to do things on their own, but like it when their CG encourages them and rewards them. Forehead kisses.
🌧Rainy Day Littles🌧: Easily nervous. Needs to be encouraged to try new things out. Pillow forts and soft things. Sweets and desserts. Probably chews things that shouldn’t be chewed on. Playdoh and paint that ends up on the floor. Wants their CG to sing and read to them. Building blocks and legos. Soft scents and candles.
🌌Starry Night Littles🌌: Doesn’t believe in bedtime. Fairy lights and glow in the dark stars. Midnight adventures. Makes their tongue go blep. Video games and music playing. Bath time is fun time. Fuzzy pajamas and binkies. Makes their CG carry them around even though they swear they aren’t tired.
My regression isn’t always aesthetic pictures of teddy bears and sippy cups or beautiful girls in pretty dresses posing for the camera. Sometimes my regression is scary. Sometimes it’s hard. Sometimes it looks like me crying in bed with my stuffies until I have snot running down my face. Sometimes it looks like me not brushing my hair, not showering for a week. Other times I’m refusing to eat anything for 2 days or yelling at people who don’t deserve it. My regression isn’t always pretty. It’s a result of my depression, my anxiety. Everybody deserves to feel like their regression is valid, whether it’s sunshine and rainbows or stormy skies and harsh rain. You are still a little no matter how you look, no matter how you act. EVERY little is valid. There is no such thing as the perfect regression.
